Alternative map integration via plugin/token and its procedure
Description of an alternative integration of the pickup points map for cases when you do not want to insert JS code directly on the page, but use our Shopify plugin and a unique token. Below you will find a step-by-step installation procedure for the plugin in Shopify, where to insert the token and what to expect after activation. Information is based on the Maps section in the Fynode admin.
When to use the plugin and token
Use the plugin/token if you have a Shopify eshop or if you do not want to insert our JS code directly into the theme. Only one map activation via plugin can be active for Shopify; resolve any additional maps by merging maps in the administration. These details are described in the Maps section in Fynode.
Step 2 — Install the plugin in Shopify and insert the token
Click the external link and install our app in your Shopify store. In Shopify go to Settings -> Checkout -> Customize and open the Thank You section. Add the block "Fynode pickup points - Thank You" and paste the API token you obtained from us into its settings. After saving, the plugin will be active.
Step 1 — Activate the map with us and obtain the link with the token
In the Fynode admin, create or select a map and save it. After activation, an external link to install the plugin in Shopify will appear, and below it a unique token which you should copy. You will need this token when configuring the plugin in Shopify.
Step 3 — Testing and behavior in the store
Create a test order, choose the delivery method for which the map is set, and complete the order. On the thank you page a button "Select pick-up point" will appear; when the customer clicks it they are redirected to our map where they select the pick-up point. Verify that the selection is correctly recorded in the order data.
For Shopify, the JS code is not displayed directly. Instead, an external link to install a plugin and a unique token are provided, which you enter into the plugin settings in Shopify. This procedure is designed so the integration runs securely and simply through the Shopify interface.
In Shopify, the plugin currently allows activating only one map. If you need multiple maps (e.g., for several countries or Couriers), use the Merge with maps function in the Fynode administration and create a single merged map before activating the plugin.
In Shopify go to Settings > Checkout > Customize, open the Thank You section and add the block “Fynode pickup points - Thank You”. In this block’s settings paste the value into the field named API token. After saving the plugin will start working according to the map settings.
After correctly installing the plugin and entering the token, a "Select pickup point" button will be displayed on the Shopify thank you page, redirecting the customer to our map. If needed, we can help with installation or merging maps if you require multiple countries or Couriers.
