Additional settings: display PDF in browser
In Settings at https://fynode.com/settings you will find the toggle "Display PDF in browser", which determines whether PDF files (orders, invoices) are downloaded to your computer or opened directly in the browser. Enabling this setting prevents PDFs from being automatically downloaded and instead displays them in the browser window, simplifying quick viewing and printing without manually opening files.
What does the „Display PDF in browser“ setting do
When the switch is active, PDF files will not be downloaded to the computer but will be displayed directly in the browser. This applies to system PDF outputs such as orders and invoices and allows quick viewing and immediate printing without saving the file to disk. The feature is located in Additional settings of the Settings section at https://fynode.com/settings.
How to turn the setting on or off
Go to Settings https://fynode.com/settings, find the Additional settings section and enable or disable the "Display PDF in browser" option. Changes are saved after clicking the save button at the bottom of the settings page. After saving, we recommend opening several PDF documents through the administration to verify the expected behavior.
Advantages and limitations
The advantage is faster access to documents and easier work when checking or printing. The disadvantage may be that some external processes or integrations expect a downloaded file, so after the change we recommend testing common workflows. If you use special exports or automated PDF processing, verify compatibility with this setting.
When opened in the browser the document displays immediately without saving to disk, which speeds up viewing and printing. When downloaded the PDF is saved to a local folder, which may be necessary for offline archiving or for integrations that expect a saved file.
The setting itself only changes the behavior when displaying PDFs in the administration. If you have external processes or integrations that expect a downloaded file, we recommend testing after changing the setting and possibly keeping download as the default for those processes.
The option is located in the Settings section at https://fynode.com/settings under Additional settings titled "Show PDF in browser"; enabling the toggle will open PDFs directly in the browser instead of auto-downloading.
