What does the „Display PDF in browser“ setting do
When the switch is active, PDF files will not be downloaded to the computer but will be displayed directly in the browser. Changes are saved after clicking the save button at the bottom of the settings page. After saving, we recommend opening several PDF documents through the administration to verify the expected behavior.
Advantages and limitations
The advantage is faster access to documents and easier work when checking or printing. The disadvantage may be that some external processes or integrations expect a downloaded file, so after the change we recommend testing common workflows. If you use special exports or automated PDF processing, verify compatibility with this setting.
What is the main difference between opening a PDF in the browser and downloading it?
When opened in the browser the document displays immediately without saving to disk, which speeds up viewing and printing. When downloaded the PDF is saved to a local folder, which may be necessary for offline archiving or for integrations that expect a saved file.
